The Art Institute of Chicago is an encyclopedic fine art museum situated in Grant Park in Chicago. This institute has one of the most notable collections of Impressionist and Post impressionist arts in its permanent collection in the world. It was founded in 1879 as a museum and also as a school. It opened in its present site in 1893. The collection has more than 5,000 years of human expression from cultures across the world.
