Grant Park was originally named as Lake Park and is a large park spreading over 319 acres in Loop community. The most attractive feature of the park is the Buckingham Fountain, Daley Bicentennial Plaza, Millennium Park and also the Art Institute of Chicago. The park is many times referred to as the front yard of the city. It was officially designated as a park in 1844.
