Reviews Atrium Wall
The Atrium Mall is located on the concourse, ground level, and second floors of the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago's downtown Loop. While having a mall inside of a government building is a novel idea, the Atrium Mall is not particularly worth visiting.
Outside of the Illinois Artisans Shop on the second floor, which has a great selection of woodcarvings jewelry, and artwork created by Illinois artists, there aren’t any especially interesting shops here. If you want to visit the Post Office, renew your driver’s license, and get some candy at the Sweet Factory, then this is your place. If you’re looking to actually do some shopping, try visiting Water Tower Place or the Shops at North Bridge.
The saving grace at the Atrium Mall is the food court, which offers a wide variety of unhealthy but delicious mall food. However it closes around 4:00 p.m. The architecture of the building itself is unique, but not particularly stunning especially when in contrast with some of Chicago’s more spectacular buildings.
