Tourist Guide Gatlinburg
The city of Gatlinburg is situated in Sevier County in Tennessee, USA. Located on the Little Pigeon River and at the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the city is spread over an area of 26.3 sq km.
The climate in Gatlinburg varies with the elevation. It is hot and humid in summer with an average temperature of 28°C, but the mountain area is quite pleasant. Winter, on the other hand, is moderate with an average temperature of 6°C.
Established in the early 1800s, the town grew from a lumbering town to a farming community. Today, the city has become a tourist destination, with a population of around 5,000.
Surrounded by mountain ridges and forests, the city has ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Home to the only ski resort in Tennessee, the city attracts many tourists during winter. With many hotels providing breathtaking views of the landscape, Gatlinburg has become a popular honeymoon destination.
