The Mallard Lake Forest Preserve is spread over 943 acres of wetlands, grassy fields and trails. It is home to a great variety of rare species like the blue herons, the beavers, the great horned owl and many others. There are a host of recreational activities for the visitors of the preserve like boating and fishing. There is an off leash dog park and several scenic picnic spots.
