The city of Joliet is located in the counties of Will and Kendall in the state of Illinois, USA. Joliet acts as the county seat of Will County. The city received its name in honour of the French explorer Louis Joliet, who visited this area in 1673.

Joliet was incorporated as a city in 1834 and is part of the Chicago Metropolitan Area. A fertile land with plenty of natural resources, this region scaled new economic heights with the development of the area around Chicago.

The annual average temperature is around 18°C. It is best to avoid travel between the months of November and February, when the temperature touches around –5°C.

Joliet has a diverse mix of people including a significant number of African-Americans, Hispanics and Pacific Islanders. With a population of around 106,200, most locals are engaged in commerce and industry.
