Matteson is a village located in Cook County in Illinois, United States. To the east of Matteson borders the Park Forest, to the North Country Club Hills and to the south Richton Park. The city was incorporated in 1899.Matteson is geographically located at 41030’35” north and 87044’21” west. The village of Matteson covers an area of 7.2 square miles, out of which 7.1 square mile is covered by land and mere 0.1 square mile by water.Matteson supports a total population of 17,080 with a population density of 1,811.2 per square miles. The majority of the villagers belong to the Afro American origin (65.99%25) followed by White origin (28.68%25) and a small percentage of other races.Matteson is in Illinois’ 2nd congressional district.
