Lake Mattoon can be described as a reservoir having an area of 4.2 sq. Km; situated in Illinois. The basic purpose behind building of this reservoir is to supply ‘tap water’ to ‘Mattoon’. The other objective is provision of boating and fishing. The uniqueness of Mattoon Lake lies in the fact that there isn’t any power limit to it. This feature welcomes waterskiers. It has been stocked with bluegill, crappie, catfish, and bass. A huge ‘Radiant Energy’ power generation plant lies adjacent to this lake.
