Oak Park is an urban area bordered on the eastern side of the City of Chicago in Illinois, United States.
The city also borders Cicero along its southern border. It is the twenty-fourth largest city in Illinois.
Oak Park has easy access to Chicago because of the handy and efficient public transportation in the form of local buses, and commuter trains.
According to the 2000 census the city was recorded to have a total population of around 52,524. A census recently recorded a decrease in population to 50,824 in 2003.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city is supposed to have a total area of about 4.7 square miles, entire portion of which is covered by land and none is present in water.
The city has lots of residents following Christianity as maximum percentage of the city population is Christians.
The city receives only 70 percent of sunshine and that too in the middle of the year so it is not a favorable place for irrigation.
