One can visit the Black Hawk State Historic Site which includes most of the original village of Saukenuk. This park includes a museum and a number of hiking trails along the Rock River and its surrounding woods. Due to its geographic condition, the city has a rich history of bridge building. One can visit the Centennial Bridge and the Government Bridge.

Some points of interest include the Longview Park Conservatory and Gardens, Augustana College, Black Hawk State Historic Site and the Rock Island Public Library. Apart from this, one can visit the Quad City Botanical Center, the Chippiannock Cemetery and the Broadway Historic District.

One can choose the Rock Island as his own personal playground and discover much more to life. There are 2 rolling golf courses in this Island. There are also well manicured city parks in this city. There is also the Whitewater Junction which can be more of the interesting place for family and friends to enjoy.
