The city of Rockford is located in Winnebago County in the state of Illinois, USA. Rockford is the county seat of the state. Founded in 1834 as the village of Midway, Rockford received its name in 1837.

The annual average temperature is around 11°C. It is best to avoid travel between the months of March and June, when this region is prone to thunderstorms.

This region has a rich history, with the Irish and the Swedish settling here in the late nineteenth century. Other ethnic groups include the African-Americans and Hispanics. This region was an important military centre for training soldiers in the early twentieth century.
