The Anderson Japanese Gardens are a fourteen acre group of Japanese gardens situated in Rockford. The gardens were established in the year 1978 by John R Anderson and Hoichi Kurisu, a landscape architect. These two people were inspired to do so by Anderson ’ s trip to Japan. The gardens are in a 13th century pond strolling garden having many ponds, waterfalls, rock formations and sculptures.
