One can easily roam around in Springfield through the transport facility of the Interstate 55 that runs from the north to the south past Springfield.
The I-72 which is also known as the US 36 runs from east to west. There are also Amtrak passenger trains that operate between Chicago and St.Louis and stops at the former Gulf, in Mobile and Ohio Station. The bus service is provided for the local mass transportation needs.
