Vernon Hills is one of the 6 communities which comprises of the Cook Memorial Public Library District. There is also the Evergreen Interim Library, which is located on the lower level of the Vernon Hills Village Hall. This library is also one of the District’s 2 library facilities. The library has around 2,800 square feet and was opened as a temporary library site in 2003 for District patrons on the south side of the District.
There are also notable locations which are worth visiting while in Vernon Hills. This includes the Cuneo Museum, Zanies Comedy Club, White Deer Run Golf Course, the Vernon Hills Golf Course and the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County.
There are also parks like the Aspen Park, Big Bear Park, Century Park, Hartman Park, Augusta Park, Hawthon Melody Park, and Oakwood Park. One can also visit the Westfield Hawthorn Center which is formerly Hawthorn Center.
