Bedford is a city which is situated in Shawswick Township in the Lawrence County in United States. This city is the county seat of Lawrence County.
Bedford was founded around 1825 and the original county seat was in Palestine. But this area was unhealthy near the White River due to malaria caused by the mosquitoes.
The Bedford North Lawrence High School is famous for is golf and basketball programs.
This city is popularly known as the limestone capital of the world as it is surrounded by the limestone quarries. Bedford is served by 2 railroads, the CSX Transportation and the Canadian Pacific Railway.
The city has a population of around 14 000.
