Fort Wayne is a haven for art and history lovers. There are around 30 art theatres in the city with the famous ones being the Embassy Theatre and Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. The Fort Wayne Museum of Art has a collection of around 1,300 artefacts and would be worth a visit. It also has a gift shop selling beautiful pieces of art, jewellery and much more.
For the last 39 years Fort Wayne has been hosting The Fort Wayne Newspapers Three Rivers Festival which is full of colour and fun. It is a must visit if in the area in July. Similarly, the Chalk Walk festival, held annually for the last eight years, is a street painting competition based on the Italian tradition. Artists from the world over come to Fort Wayne to be a part of this festival.
With the numerous shopping malls and almost 200 stores, Fort Wayne is a great place for all those fond of shopping. The major shopping malls being the Glenbrook Square Mall and Jefferson Pointe Shopping Centre.
