Goshen is located in Elkhart County in the state of Indiana, USA. It is the county seat. Goshen is known as ‘Maple City’ because of the many maple trees that line its streets. It is part of the Michiana region (northern Indiana and south-western Michigan).
Goshen has a rich history with Amish and Mennonite settlements dating back to the early nineteenth century. This region has a significant number of Hispanic and African-American people, giving it a rich culture.
The annual average temperature is around 9°C. It is best to avoid travel between the months of November and February, when the snowfall is heavy.
With a population of around 29,300, most locals are engaged in commerce and industry. Goshen is well renowned for its large number of manufacturing units, especially of RVs (Recreational Vehicles). This city is home to notable people such as Howard Hawks (director) and Rick Mirer (football player).
