The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis showcases both Western and Native American art and cultural objects inspired by the land, people, and architecture of the American Southwest.  First opening its doors in 1989, the museum contains traditional and contemporary work by artists such as T.C. Cannon, N.C. Wyeth, Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keeffe, Allan Houser, Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and Kay WalkingStick.

Inside, a gallery explores Indiana’s indigenous peoples, including the Delaware, Miami and Potawatomi Indians through rare objects, historical photos and interactive displays along with audiovisual technology.  The museum’s Sky City café serves as a great place to relax, with a 90-seat casual dining restaurant that serves both Western and Native American dishes.

Located in Indianapolis’ White River State Park, the Eiteljorg Museum is minutes from the Lucas Oil Stadium and within walking distance of the city’s shopping district and major downtown hotels.  For more information, call (317) 636-9378.
