Garnering rave reviews, the Indiana State Museum offers a wide variety of changing exhibits in science, art, history, and a hint of culture from both Indiana state and the rest of the world.
A world-class institution, and suitable fun for the whole family, visitors can experience hands-on exhibits and icons from across Indiana. The museum also has exhibits which allow visitors to explore the state’s past, present and future through scientific, cultural and historic exhibitions. While most of the galleries remain the same, artifacts from the museum’s collections are rotated four times a year in the displays. Inside, the Indiana Treasures Cases spotlight various items from the collection that are not found in any other exhibit.
Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and in the White River State Park, it is right next door to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. Opening hours are from Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. For more information, call (317) 232-1637.
