The Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is a multi-purpose sports stadium located in the heart of the city. The stadium celebrated its grand opening in the summer of 2008, replacing the city’s RCA Dome as the home field for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and has a seating capacity for 70,000 fans.
The Lucas Oil Stadium has 137 luxury suites, including 8 field suites, as well as 12 super suites as well as a “Quarterback Suite” that offers 200 seats for a shared suite experience. The stadium also has a mechanized retractable roof that divides lengthwise into two retractable panels, with each half sliding down the sloping roof of the stadium into the open position.
So far the Lucas Oil Stadium has hosted the NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Finals in April 2009 and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four the following year. In addition, the stadium is scheduled to host the Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four in April 2015.
