Broad Ripple Village is known as one of the six designated cultural districts in Indianapolis. It has many premier upscale restaurants, art galleries and also the Monon Trial for which it is popular. It was originally an independent municipality and was annexed by Indianapolis in 1922. Its area is 27.1 square kilometers with population of 17,041 people.
