Michigan City, as the name suggests, lies on the shores of Lake Michigan. As a result, this place gets flooded with tourists during the summers. The Lake Michigan is a place of peak attraction amongst tourists.
Washington Park is famous for housing one of the few lighthouses in Indiana. This park comprises of a zoo which is spread across an area of 15 acres. It is located on the sand dune, which looks like a hill. There are 220 animals available in the zoo.
The Foreman Amphitheater situated in Washington Park holds a large number of concerts every Thursday.
Michigan City is famous for Mount Baldy. It is a huge wandering sand dune. Due to the peculiar sound the sand produces, the city is also known as 'Singing Sand' city.
The Old Lighthouse in the city is the most visited tourist spot. The historic light house is one of the few in the city.
