Peru is Miami County’s county seat. Many people pronounce the name of this city like that of Peru, i.e. a nation in South America.
The city ‘Peru’ had been founded in the year 1834 by none other than William N. Hood. In the early years of the twentieth century, just like several other cities of the US, it had been home to Model Automobile Company, a pioneering maker of automobiles. However, it did not survive; just like its counterparts.
