Seymour is located in Jackson County of Indiana in United States.
The first settler in this city was James Shields who brought his family in the year 1816. In the year 1852 an east west railroad was constructed through his property. And the town got its name from the railroad civil engineer J. Seymour. The city was incorporated in the year 1864 with a mere number 1550 people.
The people over here are quite generous and greet every visitor with a warm hospitality. The city has a rich historical heritage that can be reflected in various historical sites present in the city.
