Shelbyville city is located in Addison Township of Shelby County of Indiana in United States.
The town was incorporated in the year 1850 with the special act of legislature. Railroad was the first development of this town and which expanded in the year 1830. The city was not opened for settlement till 1820, after that people started coming to stay in this place. Initially the county was divided in to four civil townships but after that fourteen. The land of this city earlier proved to be successful townships were created
