Vincennes lies on the banks of Wabash River within the state’s south-western part. It’s known as the oldest settlement inside Indiana which has been continually inhabited by Europeans.
Vincennes once served as capital of ‘Indiana Territory’ for 13 years, i.e. from 1800 to 1813; prior to being moved to ‘Corydon’.
