George Rogers Clark National Historical Park
In one of the celebrated campaigns, Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark, William Clark’s elder brother; along with frontiersmen of his went on to capture British Lt. Governor, i.e. Henry Hamilton and Fort Sackville on 25th of February, 1779. Heroic march on the part of men of Clark on Mississippi river from Kaskaskia in mid-winter; apart from subsequent victory on British goes on to remain one amongst the greatest feats with regards to American Revolution.
In the year 1966, Indiana performed the task of transferring this site to ‘National Park Service’. There happens to be a ‘visitor center’ adjacent to memorial; wherein a person can have a look at interpretive displays and programs.
Timings
Visitor Center of the park remains open every single day between 0900 and 1700 hrs. memorial remains open between 0900 and 1645 hrs.
