At the Muscatine Pearl Button Museum, one can experience life in a pearling camp and understand all the aspects of the procedure of manufacturing a pearl button. Visitors can see a diorama that features an impressive hand painted mural of length 36 feet and an old clamming boat. This area is used to show how the freshwater mussels were harvested and the way in which people spent the summer months clamming on rivers.
