The Parker Historical Society was established by Reverend and Mrs. Parker supported by a group of county citizens in 1960. Initially, museum artifacts were displayed on the 2nd floor of a house that belonged to the Spencer Community School District. When Mrs, Parker moved to St. Luke’s nursing home, the Parker Historical Society took possession of the current address of the museum. Agricultural items are also displayed in this museum.
