Lake Afton Park
Lake Afton Park goes on to occupy around 720 acres of land. It is inclusive of a ‘258-acre’ lake-on-land which had been inhabited by Osage, Wichita, Comanche, Kiowa, and ‘Southern Cheyenne Indian Tribes’. Construction began in the year 1939 and got finished in the year 1942; thanks to WPA work force. The activities accommodated by Lake Afton Park include boating, water skiing, camping, fishing, walking trail, dances, and picnics and family gatherings.
Park Facilities
Park facilities have been inclusive of 6-seater houses in addition to several open shelters (small and large), 2 playgrounds, 3 swimming areas, 5 contemporary showers and restrooms, 2 recreational ‘vehicle sanitation disposal facilities’, one-boat ramp, 3 fishing docks (with feeders), a bait and grocery store, and many more.
Other activities/events
These events/activities are inclusive of public observatory, go-cart races, fishing contests, National Drag Boating racing, national and State Jamborees, etc.
