The city of Emporia is located in the western hemisphere of the state of Kansas. The city of Emporia is amongst the principle Metropolitan cities of the state of Kansas. The city got its identity in the state of Kansas and the neighboring areas because of its local newspapers. The city of Emporia was the first city in the state of Kansas to have a separate newspaper. Geographically the city is quiet large and stretches up to 31 square km in area. In spite of having a large area the population here is less as per the area available in the city. As per the latest census the city has a population of around 27,000. The climatic conditions of the city are quiet extreme. The summers here are pretty hot and range up to a temperature of 32 degrees. In contrast with the summer the winters are extremely cold and the temperature usually fall below freezing point. The rainy season in the city does not last for more than 60 days.
