Sternberg Museum of Natural History
This is a part of the Fort Hays State University. The museum is inclined on preserving and making a collection of animals and plant specimens, which pertain to the Great Plains. It has been named in memory of the Sternberg family who collected some of the most spectacular fossils in the world..
Frontier Park
The park is placed on the land that belonged to the Fort Hays Military Reservation. It is picturesque natural looking spare time vicinity with a creek that winds all the way through the 89 acres of land.
The other features of the park includes, plenty of large shade trees, , playground equipment, and several walking trails. O.W.L. (Outdoor Wildlife Learning) Site.
In the year 1991, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, came up with the program named Outdoor Wildlife Learning site. The basic aim was to increase the student contact to the native plant communities and the wildlife.
It is placed in O'Loughlin School, and is inclusive of a natural setting and a walking path for catching a view of the wildlife.
