Lansing is located in the eastern part of Leaven County along the Missouri river, to the north east of Kansas in the Central of United States.
Lansing was named after James William Lansing who was a business man of New York. After the civil war James W Lansing was working as hospital Steward, built later on he resigned and opened his mercantile store and the area was soon known as Town of Progress.
Lansing was incorporated in the year 1959.Set in the lush greenery this place has some of the best sightseeing spot and historical sites that are worth watching. The people over here are very generous and welcome visitors with warm hospitality.
The climate of this place is quite moderate and can be visited at any time of the year.
The population of this place comes to 10,705 according to 2006 census. Visiting this place is worthwhile especially when one is coming to spend a leisure vacation.
