Overland Park is the 2nd most populated city in Kansas State. The city lies in Johnson County of Kansas State in the United States. It is known for being the satellite city of Kansas.
Overland Park is surrounded by Leawood, Prairie Village, Lenexa and Olathe. The city lies over an area of 65.3 sq. miles. It is densely populated with 165, 890 residents, as per the 2006 census.
The traces of the city date back to 1905, when William B. Strange Jr. arrived in the city. In 2006, the city of Overland Park acquired the sixth position in the list of 100 Best Cities to Live in the US.
The city of Overland Park experiences a humid continental type of climate. Due to this climate, the summers are generally hot, while the winters are cold. The winters sometimes can get colder than average due to the influence of continental air masses. The climate remains pleasant for most of the time through the year.
