Tourist Guide Wichita
Wichita, the Air Capital of the World, is the largest city and county seat of Sedgwick County in southern Kansas, USA. It lies on the banks of the Arkansas River and is a three-hour drive from the cities of Kansas and Oklahoma.
The city is prone to severe weather from time to time, with the summer months seeing temperatures of nearly 34°C and unpleasant thunderstorms that are often accompanied by hail and lightening. Winter temperatures can go as low as –8°C in the month of January. The possibility of tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Wichita has a population of more than 350,000 people. It is home to the McConnell Air Force Base and at least six important aircraft manufacturing companies (including Airbus and Boeing) which boost its economy.
