Ranking as the best outdoor attraction in the state of Kansas, Wichita’s Sedgwick County Zoo guarantees hours of fun being immersed in amazing wildlife. Located at 5555 Zoo Boulevard, this zoo is the largest in the state and has a reputation to rival its size. With over 2,500 animals of 500 different species, a trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo is one of the most exciting ways to spend a day. The many animal exhibits are separated by continent—visit Africa to hear the roar of jungle cats, North America for playful sea otters and Australia for vibrant avian varieties. Some other animal highlights include the Gorilla Forest, the Penguin Cove and the Tiger Trek, as well as the elephants, hippos and zebras. Free tram tours whisk visitors throughout the zoo on a whirlwind tour.
