Civil War Museum houses collection of 5 attractions; that too, along ‘Museum Row’. It had been established in the year 1996. Civil War Museum enjoys the pride of being the 4th biggest ‘American Civil War’ museum. Moreover, it’s dedicated to ‘Western Theater’ of war. ‘Main Building’ had originally been the waterworks and icehouse of Bardstown. The 5 attractions include:
Civil War Museum of the Western Theater
This museum has been organized by geography and chronology. One of the notable exhibits is flag pertaining to second Kentucky Cavalry; that was captured during the imprisonment of John Hunt Morgan following end of his Raid in Ohio.
Pioneer Village
Pioneer Village is better known as ‘Civil War Village’. It goes on to feature buildings constructed in Nelson, Kentucky, between 1776 and 1820.
The other three attractions are Wildlife Museum, War Memorial of Mid America, and Women’s Civil War Museum.
