Frankfort is the capital city of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in United States. It is also the county seat for the Franklin County.
The city of Frankfort sits in a beautiful valley in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. Having a rocky and gently rolling terrain, the land is suitable for agriculture. The city is divided into the north and south sides by the Kentucky River.
Due to its location in the northern extreme of the south-eastern United States, the climate of Frankfort is a blend of the humid subtropical climate and the humid continental climate. The city has an average annual temperature of 12.7°C; January has a mean temperature of –1°C while July has a mean temperature of 23.9°C.
The population of Frankfort is approximately 27,800 where majority of the population is employed in public administration.
