Frankfort displays a rich architectural heritage. The Liberty Hall Historic Site is an example of this heritage. Liberty Hall is a Georgian-style mansion and the site also includes the Oralndo Brown House. The Berry Hill Mansion is another architectural marvel which is open to public.
Another historic site that must be visited is the Frankfort Cemetery which also has Daniel Boon’s grave. The State Capitol Museum is popular for its collection of political memorabilia. To enjoy the flora and fauna of the city, visit the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Game Farm.
The famous Bourbon Chocolate Balls was invented here in by Rebecca Ruth Candy Factory. Visitors must try them at Rebecca Ruth Candy shop on the East Side of town.
Frankfort celebrates a number of festivals throughout the year, some of which are the Capital Expo Art and Crafts Festival, Kentucky Herb Festival, the Great Pumpkin Festival and the Kentucky Book Fair.
