Lexington, the Horse Capital of the World, is located in the Bluegrass Region in Kentucky, USA. The city is the seat of Fayette County. Lexington has no rivers or major water bodies and is the second largest landlocked-city in the country.

The Blue Grass Airport, located around 6 km west of the city, caters to the air needs of the people. No train services or national interstate highways pass through Lexington.

The climate in the city is mostly humid and varies from continental to subtropical. Average summer temperature is 23°C, while in winter it could go well below 1°C.

Lexington has a population of around 260,000 people. The city, which is the seventieth largest in the USA, is home to several business corporations (including two Fortune 500 companies). Tourism is an important revenue-generator for the economy.
