Louisville experiences snowfall in the months of January and February. This is the period when the winter sports take place. Hundreds of tourists visit the city during this period.
Apart from winter sports, Louisville holds hundreds of festivals throughout the year. The Kentucky Derby is the most famous annual event in Louisville. It is held on the first Saturday in May. Thunder over Louisville festival features a magnificent fireworks display on the banks of River Ohio.
The Humana Festival of New American Play is where several internationally renowned plays take place. The largest Beatles Festival in the whole world named Abbey Road on the River is held here on Memorial Day.
Tourists visiting the city in September can witnesses the Adam Matthews Balloon Festival. This is the fifth largest festival of hot air balloons. The West Main District of Louisville is famously known as the ‘Museum Row’.
