Murray is a city situated in the Calloway County of Kentucky in the United States of America. Murray covers a total land area of 10.0 sq miles and has an elevation of 535 ft. The city has a humid climate from hot and damp summers to mild and chilly winters, with January as the coldest month and July the warmest. Murray has a total population of 14,950 and boasts of the lowest crime rates in Kentucky.
The city lies 15 miles to the west of ‘Land between the Lakes’ which is a recreational area offering several entertainment facilities such as camping, boating, swimming, fishing and wildlife. The city has a number of religious institutions with people of different faiths living together, with Baptist being the major one. Hence one can find a number of Baptist churches in the city of Murray. The city also hosts a number of annual festivals such as the barbecue contest, the Freedom Fest, the Highland Festival and more.
