A number of places in Downtown Paducah have been included in the National Register of Historic Places. There are several historic buildings and museums worth visiting in Paducah. The museum of the American Quilter’s Society gives information about the history and art of making quilts.
The quilt show which is held here is one of the largest events of the year featuring more than hundred and fifty quilts. The Alben Barkley Museum gives information about the social and political life as well as on Barkley and other historical matters. The Woodlands Nature Station is a must visit for those fond of adventure as a number of canoeing and hiking trips are arranged here.
On Broadway Street are the Wall to Wall Murals depicting the history of the city in its paintings and murals on the floodwalls made by Robert Dafford. There are several antique shops and restaurants for tourists to visit and spend time. The Maiden Alley Cinema is a place for watching movies and also has an art gallery.
