Somerset is a city based in the popular Pulaski County in the state of Kentucky in the United States. This city dates back to the seventeenth century and was founded by Thomas Hansford and many others of the Jasper family. The name ‘Somerset’ was derived from Somerset County which is not far off. This city has reserved a place for itself in the tourism map with an annual count of 1.7 million visitors. It contains the popular well called ‘Lake Cumberland’ which is the biggest man made lake in the world. The location of this city is toward the east of the Mississippian Plateau and is a little on the outskirts of the famous ‘Outer Bluegrass’ region. It has a sufficient area of 29.2 sq. kilometres. The population here is large and around 16,352 as reported recently. The climate here is not far apart from the rest of Kentucky which enjoys a Mediterranean type of climate. This place shows significant changes in scenery and land forms.
