The town of Killington is situated in Rutland County in Vermont, USA. Located on the Ottauquechee River among the Green Mountains, the town covers an area of 121.4 sq km and has a population of around 4,000. Until 1999, the town was officially named Sherburne.
Killington has a moderate climate. The average summer temperature is 22°C, while the average winter temperature is –5°C. Spring is cold and rainy, but it is the best time to view nature in all its glory.
With snow-capped mountains and the famous Killington and Pico resorts, the town has become synonymous with winter sports. Home to the Green Mountain National Golf Course, the town becomes a golf destination in summer.
