Kodiak Island is a nice place for trekking. Kodiak Treks is a company that hosts such treks which include wildlife photography tours, fishing, Kayaking trips and backpacking trips.
Some of the museums here are very interesting and educative. The most popular ones being Alutiiq Museum & Archaeological Repository, Baranov Museum and Kodiak Military History Museum.
At a distance of around 132 miles towards the north is the city called Homer and around 249 miles towards the North is another city called Anchorage. Both these places have some great tourist spots that can be visited.
Kodiak Island is host to so many events all through out the year. Some of the most interesting ones are Kodiak Crab Festival, Oktoberfest and the Whale Fest Kodiak.
This Whale Fest is a great time for whale lovers as they celebrate the return of migrating Whales.
There are a lot of other events conducted during this festive time.
