One of the most popular attractions is the Kentucky Horse Park which is a working horse farm cum educational theme park. Twice a day, a Parade of Breeds is held which presents rare and common horses ridden in an authentic costume.
The Red Mile Harness Track is the second oldest horse-racing track in the USA and features horses pulling sulkies (two-wheeler carts) while racing.
Other places of interest include Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate (a two-storey museum declared as a National Historic Landmark) and the Lexington Public Library (which has the world’s largest ceiling clock and a five-storey Foucault pendulum).
The first week of June sees the Festival of the Bluegrass, a music festival symbolic of the scenic regional plant. The Fourth of July is one of the most celebrated festivals of Lexington. On 3 July, the Gratz Park is host to the Patriotic Music Concert, and the national Independence Day is ushered in with plenty of fireworks.
