The Saint Mary Magdalene Church was established in 1842 by Father Antoine Desire Megret. It was built in 1844. The church was completely destroyed by fire on March 1907. A frame church was built and named St Anne’s. The new church was built and has since then been in use since 1911.In the year 1973 enhancements and beautification was done of the church which now houses a small chapel, meeting rooms and bookstores
