The city of Bastrop is located in the Morehouse region of Louisiana. It is considered to be the part of Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical area. The record of the year 2007 says that the population of Bastrop was 11,908 and it has declined as compared to the population of the year 2000. In Bastrop, people go through four climatic conditions. Winter season occurs in late December and continues till mid March. Spring starts from March to late June; summer takes place in late June and continues till late September. Autumn occurs in September till December.A mayor and a board of members of a municipal legislative body govern the state here. Established in the year 1913, Northeast Louisiana University is the largest in North Louisiana. More than 10000 students enroll from this University every year
