Bossier City lies on the eastern bank of the Red River opposite the city of Shreveport in Louisiana. The city covers a total area of 41.6 sq miles and an elevation of 174 feet. The city has a growing metropolitan area with over sixty five thousand inhabitants, with most of the population consisting of Whites.
The culture is a mix of the Cajun attitude and the Texas spirit and one can explore its vast musical heritage from folk music, country and bluegrass to jazz. The city experiences a mild climate with August being the warmest month and January the coldest. Rainfall is evenly distributed all through the year with December being the wettest month.
